With this step, we are strategically strengthening our Northern cluster in the Resources segment—bringing materials, transshipment, and transport even closer to our construction sites.
Northern cluster completed with “Resources”
The Andreas Giese Group (district of Segeberg, Hamburg metropolitan region) is a high-performance construction materials logistics provider with around 65 employees, its own fleet of more than 40 trucks, direct access to resources (gravel pits, soil disposal sites), and several transshipment facilities—some of them permitted under the German Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG)—in Barsbüttel, Wahlstedt, and Neumünster. This completes our value chain in the North, consolidating material flows exactly where they are needed.
Long-term supply and disposal security in the Northeast
With more than 4 million tonnes of high-quality gravel and around 6 million tonnes of backfilling capacity—distributed across the excellently connected gravel pits in Schwissel, Högersdorf, and Mözen—we are creating robust capacity for current and future projects. This means predictable supply, reliable disposal, and short transport routes for our construction sites throughout Northern Germany.
Staying true to the TERRAS Way: continuity in management
The operational management duo Jan Becker and Matthias Kähne will remain on board long term as managing co-shareholders. This combines strong local market expertise and entrepreneurial responsibility with the strength of the TERRAS Group—continuity meets future readiness, fully in line with the “TERRAS Way.”
Integrated value creation from a single source
Resources form the foundation, logistics connect—civil engineering builds, specialist foundation engineering anchors, rail moves.
With the Andreas Giese Group, we are adding the missing puzzle piece to our TERRAS value chain in the Northeast: from extraction and handling to transport and delivery to the construction site—efficient, transparent, and from a single source.
